Porn baron David Sullivan today ploughed another £1.5 million into Birmingham City, the football club where he is a director.
The club, newly promoted to the Premier League, was lent a further £1.5 million by fellow directors, brothers David and Ralph Gold.
The funds will be used to refurbish the club's St Andrew's Stadium and buy new players - although it hardly compares to the tens of millions of pounds likely to be spent by Chelsea and Manchester United.
It comes less than three weeks after Essex-born Sullivan - owner of sex shop chain Private Shops and the Daily Sport and Sunday Sport newspapers - and David Gold lent £1 million each to the football club.
The new loans must be repaid by 1 September and bear an interest rate of 0.5%.
Despite being a director of Birmingham City, Sullivan is a West Ham United fan but recently ruled out a bid for the east London club.
"I'd love to buy West Ham but I've no desire to spend my sons' inheritance on football and we just don't have the money to compete with bigger clubs," he said.
