Australia's premier warns China on Rio

AUSTRALIAN premier Kevin Rudd has waded into the Rio Tinto spying row by warning China "the world is watching".

Four Rio Tinto staff, led by Australian executive Stern Hu, have been detained in Shanghai accused of industrial espionage and attempting to steal state secrets. Since their arrest 10 days ago the case has threatened to become a full-blown diplomatic incident.
