Dawson's decline is Smiths News' gain

Newspapers and magazines distributor Smiths News is bucking the recession with a 7.1% rise in group revenues in recent months, thanks in part to the inexorable decline of smaller rival Dawson.

The former distribution arm of WH Smith said it remained confident about its prospects for the rest of the financial year thanks to winning major contracts from Dawson.
