Vedanta eyes move into steel in India

London-listed mining group Vedanta Resources is planning to expand into steel manufacturing.

Vedanta is looking to team up with Japanese and European steel companies to build a steel plant in India, say reports quoting chairman Anil Agarwal.

“We will partner with somebody who can provide us technology and management,” he told the Mint newspaper.
