The budget airlines are continuing to grow in the recession at the expense of the likes of British Airways (BA).
EasyJet, which handles more UK passengers than any other airline, today said it carried 4.4 million of them throughout its operations around Europe last month. That is 5% more than a year ago and shows that its planes are flying 88% full.
Arch-rival Ryanair reported yesterday it carried 6.1 million passengers in September, 17% more than a year ago and 85% full.
That compares to falling passenger numbers at BA which reported a 1.7% dive for September to 2.9 million. In Europe, BA passengers numbers were down 2.9% at 1.8 million with a load factor of 77%.

The unfriendlier BA becomes and the worse their service becomes the less their prices are reasonable. They seem to want to be low class - high fares: does not work!
