BAE in Mexican standoff with SFO

BAE Systems has still not come to an agreement with the Serious Fraud Office over its claims that BAE secured business abroad through bribes.

Two weeks ago the SFO said it would ask the Attorney General's permission to prosecute BAE if it did not pay fines of hundreds of millions of pounds.

In a trading statement today BAE said that it “continues to expend considerable effort to resolve [the case]”, but it will see the SFO in court if necessary.
