Talks on new Lloyds disposal

Nick Goodway

Lloyds Banking Group is in talks to sell its small private client discretionary investment management business to Rathbone Brothers.

The talks revolve mainly around the Bank of Scotland Portfolio Management Service which offers fund management services to wealthy individuals.

Lloyds said there was no guarantee a deal would be done, but if it is this would be the latest in a series of non-core disposals.

Earlier this week Lloyds said it is likely to sell its 200-strong Halifax Estate Agency chain to the quoted LSL Property Services in a deal which analysts believe would be valued at no more than £10 million.
