Playtech winning with online betting

The continuing growth of online betting is still paying off for Playtech, the provider of gambling software to bookmakers such as William Hill.

It today posted an impressive 12% year-on-year rise in takings for the three months to September, which reached €31.9 million (£29 million).

But the company admitted that “a run of unusual sports results” at its joint venture William Hill Online meant sales were down 4% on the second quarter.
