Cobham lifted by US Army’s order

Defence group Cobham today said it was boosted by a $1.2 billion (£733 million) contract to make intercom systems for US Army vehicles as revenue in the first nine months of 2009 grew “strongly”.

It said its military and government businesses had “performed well”, taking its order book to £2.5 billion.

Chief operating officer Andy Stevens will start as chief executive on 1 January.
