Small businesses downbeat
24 Nov 2009More than half of small businesses in London think the economic slump will last at least another year.
Research by Clifton Asset Management (CAM) today showed that 54% of small business owners in the capital fear there will be no meaningful recovery for 12 months or more.
However, 61% reckon London is better placed than the rest of the UK to deal with the recession.
CAM director Anthony Carty said: “While many commentators have spent the last quarter desperately trying to talk up the economy, our research with the people at the sharp end — UK small business owners — paints a very different picture.
“SMEs are in the eye of the storm right now and over half believe the recovery is going to be long and slow.”

There are no green shoots, only rhetotical bull delivered by the stalinist Crash Brown and his mute followers.
How can an economy grow when it will be subject to higher taxes and everyone tightening their belts still further. We are in a false land of pre Christmas good cheer so no none cares, but when credit card debt is double in the first 9 months of this year than the whole of last year and Christmas shopping ois not even included there is no money to grow what ever garbage he comes up with.
The fundamentals ar that Labour under B Liar and Crash Brown is bust, and if you dont have an international side to your business to capitalise on the British Peso's collapse then you know only too well we have a long time beofre any green shoots actually will show.
