THE comedian is among hosts of The Great London Pub Quiz this Thursday, proceeds of which will go towards Ken Livingstone's re-election campaign. More than 20 teams will compete in rounds also hosted by the Mayor, comedian Arthur Smith and actors Prunella Scales and Richard Wilson.

Brand said: "I'm very pleased to be supporting Ken's campaign for re-election and particularly pleased to be asking the questions and not answering them as I'm pretty rubbish at quizzes these days. My brain seems to have slowly leaked out of my ears since I had children."

Smith added: "I always think anyone hated so vigorously by the Labour Party and the Tories is the man to vote for."
