MAN IN THE NEWS

Tim Montgomerie

THE former Tory staffer today launched a new website, politicshome.com, on which 100 of Britain's top political minds are asked what Ken Livingstone would have to do to win the mayoral race.

The panel, which includes Cabinet ministers and senior Opposition politicians, suggested he should present himself as "a competent chief executive who has got things done". They added he should attack Boris Johnson as "a clown and a fake" and that Gordon Brown could help the campaign by staying away.

CAMPAIGN CAPERS

THE mayoral candidates often lament that politics is so celebrity driven. Well, according to the capital's voters, the best man for the job isn't on the list. In a poll of 1,000 Londoners by online betting firm Betfair, chef Gordon Ramsay came top with 31 per cent, Little Britain star David Walliams was second on 15 per cent and Prince Harry third with 14 per cent.
