Ken Livingstone was keeping his future plans a closely-guarded secret today as he continued to avoid the limelight.
The former Mayor spent the weekend recovering from the seven week-election campaign with partner Emma Beal and his two children.
Close friends said that Mr Livingstone was "having a rest and will doubtless have something to say in the near future", but refused to elaborate.
The Standard recently revealed that the first thing he would do on losing was take his children to school in person and start working on a book about his eight-year reign at City Hall.
Mr Livingstone also often said that his priority after the election would be to get back to his garden. "I've got two months' worth of weeding to do," he said.
He has also claimed that being Mayor would be "my last job in politics" whether he won last week or not. But there is speculation in some quarters that Mr Livingstone could make a bid for election to Parliament.

I would expect that Ken will soon announce his conversion to Islam and becoming part of George Galloway's Respect party. That should about seal his future in the political wilderness.
