London chiefs are to hold a knife crime summit after a weekend of violence.

In his first major move to curb escalating atttacks, Ray Lewis, deputy mayor for young people, will meet members of the GLA, police and charities to discuss how to tackle the problem.

The summit, to be held later this week, comes after the deaths of Robert Knox, stabbed in Sidcup, and James Graham, 29, from Cricklewood, who was beaten to death in Hendon.

A 19-year-old man was stabbed in the stomach at East Ham Tube station on Sunday night. Another 19-year-old was found nearby with head injuries and taken to a separate hospital, where he was arrested.

A 17-year-old was critical in hospital after being shot in the head in Camden on Saturday.

Another 17-year-old was in a serious condition after being shot in the stomach in Archway early on Friday.
