I'll vote Boris, no i do not think he is the best man for the job, simply the best man at this time, to beat Ken. Remember after being mayor for a few months he closed trafalgar sq. A gathering point for centuries to welcome in the new year. Livingstone warned everyone to stay away from Trafalgar sq or be arrested, sounds like China today. If Ken wins again your Mayors tax will be in the stratosphere, it was only held low this year due to the elections. Look how he increased it after the last elections. Ken harangues Boris's ability to run a billion pound budget, why has Livingstone allowed it to grow from zero to billions of pounds in eight short years? Why has he a staff of thousands? Simply empire biulding. We can't afford another four years of Livingstone, what's more London cannot survive another four years of Livingstone.
David Stewart, West Acton
My biggest pet hate of all this campaigning is the absoloute discrimination shown towards Boris Johnson. So, he went to one of the best schools (on merit, not £'s) and he went to one of the best Uni's (on merit, not £'s).
So many people then feel free to comment on him being too posh to run London. What an utter load of rubbish?
Have you seen how sucessful this City always has been and always will be? - Free travel for thugs? Free travel for unemployed people?
I think this should go back to Labour v Tories, and I for one know which one would win!
JamesS, Canary Wharf
c may from biggin hill, what kind of Milk float do you drive, to say that you agree with the congetion charge, how long have you worked for Red Ken?
How sad are you to be happy that the more powerful (and better) cars may have to pay £25.00, obviously, have you neither ambition or hope, you are obviously unhappy with your lot in life, so do keep driving your Rat mobile!
Heaven, Bexley
I will be voting for Boris as will my friends and family. I have never voted for Livingstone, and could not believe that he managed to get elected last time round. Ken Livingstone obviously hates Londoners and is obsessed with ruthlessly taxing hardworking people with his bullying, authoritarian tax regimes like the Congestion Charge and Low Emission Zone. He has filled City Hall and the ghastly TfL (Torture for London) with all of his ultra-communist crony friends from the old GLC. These crooks have their fat snouts in the trough, greedily guzzling millions of pounds of Londoner's hard earned money.
GET RID OF KEN AS SOON AS POSSIBLE!
He should be placed in the stocks in the middle of Trafalgar Square to be pelted with rotten fruit and vegetables by Londoners who have suffered under his regime, then he should be shipped in a cage overseas where he wants to be.
Daniel Howard, cheesed off, Childs Hill,London
I would vote for Richard Barnbrook as he cares deeply about the environment and he will ensure that London is a safer place for all. One cannot put a price on safety in any country but it is important to feel safe where one lives.
Rosemary, Bedford
I really wish every voter in greater London votes intelligently and rejects Ken Livingstone. He has some really extremist backers. Anyone who reads comments on You Tube against his opponents would see the sort of extremist and unpleasant people that back him. Ken Livingstone is a disgrace to London. Keep him out of power forever.
Anne Evans, Hounslow, England
I am amused by the antics of the current Mayor and his administration, I'm also deeply suspicious of the other 2 main contenders. One who relies on his previous career as a copper, and was that a success ?? The other who looks like he'll have a whale of a time, but will it actually address what Londoners need: Justice, tolerance and hope.
But what about integrity,
Can we see more from Alan Craig and the Christian Choice manifesto.
From what I’ve read and heard, he speaks sincerely and for the people he currently represents in his locality, in East London.
Whatever there background and culture he has the support from all the groups in his Newham constituency.
There is an alternative.
You have my support Alan.
Pete , Wallington
We OAPs are hoping for Brian Paddick because he represents the needs of the elderly - down with crime, and save our post offices. Ken has had 12 years and all we got was a freedom pass and an increasing GLA bill for the olympics none of us will go to! because we are too poor scrapping together council tax payments and GLA money. Lib Dems promise end of council tax.
ICENI BUSINESS, WHITE HART LANE - TOTTENHAM
I want Boris Johnson to win and I would vote for him tomorrow. I like him because he is a new face and everyone is fed up with Ken Livingstone. I am most concerned about transport because I am concerned about the Tubes. I wish things were cheaper because I spend a fortune on my Oyster card.
Penny Kraunssoe, 58, caterer from Ladbroke Grove
I will vote for Boris Johnson because he is straightforward and to the point and he is a Conservative. The issue that affects me most is people coming to London and living off the state. I want someone who will get people back into work and get kids to go to school instead of staying at home.
Mario Rooza, 34, chef from Pimlico
I have never voted in an election because I never thought it was worth it but I will in this one. I will vote for Ken Livingstone because he has the strongest environmental credentials. He has the strongest stance on aviation and because I am against a third Heathrow runway I support him.
Peter Myers, 37, sustainability adviser from Notting Hill
I would vote for Boris Johnson because I have read the most about him. Transport is the biggest issue for me, I think it is too expensive to travel on the tube. I want him to bring the price down. Boris seems like a breath of fresh air. I would least like Ken Livingstone to get in, the more I hear about him the less I like. It is always good to have a change and he hasn't impressed me much.
Raphaele Mendy, 26, a student from Ladbroke Grove
I would vote for Gerrard Batten, as I feel the main parties are all just talk, and now act serious when its election time, but do not fulfill most of their promises when their are elected.
Tareq Ashry 21, Kilburn
We need change to give the opportunity for a fresh approach. I hear very little on challenges to Mayor Livingstone's past expenditure (legal challenges, etc) and I am not happy that this area has been controlled in an efficient manner. It's worth going for a change - but I suggest the candidate who expects to be voted in, should face the camera and say "We will not tollerate inadeqancies"
