Torres: We can't afford to single out Fabregas

Fernando Torres admits Liverpool will have to do more than shut out Cesc Fabregas to gain the upper hand in the battle to reach the Champions League semi-finals.

Fabregas has been inspirational for Arsenal in Europe over the past three seasons and his goal against AC Milan last month sealed their place in the last eight.

Gunners defender Kolo Toure singled out Steven Gerrard as Liverpool's key man ahead of tonight's first leg at Emirates Stadium. But Torres insists his side cannot afford to have the same view about his international team-mate.

"I haven't spoken to Cesc about the game but he is a fantastic player and is great for the Spain team as well," said the striker.

"But it is not just Cesc Fabregas we must watch. Arsenal have many good players and we have respect for them. I'm not sure they'll fear us but they will respect us. We are always strong in Europe and hopefully we can be again in this game.

"It is decided over 180 minutes and Arsenal are very strong at home but we will have our chances."

Torres has been in outstanding form this season, having scored 28 goals as he prepares for his latest challenge in north London.
