Aidy Boothroyd holds crisis talks

Evening Standard   28 Apr 2008

Skipper John Eustace believes a heart-to-heart with Aidy Boothroyd can rescue Watford's season.

After leading the table by nine points in October, Watford's form has fallen away so badly they must win their final Championship game of the season at Blackpool on Sunday to be sure of a play-off place.

Following Saturday's 1-0 home defeat by already-relegated Scunthorpe, boss Boothroyd and his players held an hour-long summit to try to turn around the crisis.

Eustace said: "We had a good chat about things, and got a lot of things out in the open. Everyone knows how disappointing Saturday was.

"We were not good enough against Scunthorpe, and we're not confident in front of goal at the moment, so that is something we have to address."
