Wenger: criminal if we fail

Criminal if we fail again says Arsene

13.05.08

Arsene Wenger said today it would be "criminal" if Arsenal are not challenging for honours next season and denied the club were going to "implode".

Arsenal's title challenge fell away in the second half of the season but Wenger believes his young squad will learn from the experience.

"I think the big core of the team is ready to come back and fight," said the manager. "I think all of them are determined to come back and win.

"I feel they have created something special and not to take advantage of that would be criminal for me."

Wenger has already lost Mathieu Flamini to AC Milan and Alexander Hleb has been linked with Inter.

But the boss told Arsenal.com: "At the moment the vibes coming out of the club is like we are going to implode but it is not like that at all. It is very stable. I am not worried."
