Charlton's Marcus Bent is set to turn his season-long loan deal at Wigan into a permanent move.

The striker scored seven goals to help the Premier League side avoid relegation, and a fee of around £1million has been agreed between the clubs to keep Bent at the JJB stadium.

"We just need to sort the personal terms. The contract is there and I am very happy to come to Wigan," said Bent, who turns 30 next week.

"This is the club I want to stay at and hopefully the manager will soon be talking to my agent and we can sort things out."

Another player who will not be at the Valley next season is 23-year-old defender Osei Sankofa, who has been released from his contract.

Having progressed through Charlton's academy, Sankofa made just 19 appearances for the club.
