United bite back over Ronaldo

The verbal battle over the fate of Cristiano Ronaldo reached a crescendo yesterday, with Manchester United threatening to report Real Madrid to FIFA.
Various figures at the Spanish giants have used the media to make overtures towards Ronaldo over recent weeks and United are increasingly concerned about the lack of a clear rebuttal to the rumours from the Portuguese star.
In a statement, United said: "These public attempts to unsettle the player are completely against regulations and we won't tolerate them any more."
