Bust-up: Antonio Cassano objected to teammate's heavy tackle

Now Italy's build-up is hit by players' row

04.06.08

Italy's troubled build-up to Euro 2008 shows no signs of easing following a training-ground spat between striker Antonio Cassano and defender Giorgio Chiellini.

The world champions lost Fabio Cannavaro at the weekend when he damaged ankle ligaments in a tackle from Chiellini, which will keep the captain out of the finals.

And after taking exception to another tough challenge from Chiellini, the temperamental Cassano reportedly said: "Do you want to injure everyone?"

The Sampdoria forward was quickly told to "shut up" by coach Roberto Donadoni.

But despite shaking hands with Chiellini, Cassano continued to let off steam in the dressing room after the training session, forcing Donadoni once more to intervene.
