There's no Ron proof, say Madrid

10.06.08

Real Madrid claimed today Manchester United had no evidence that the club are trying to sign Cristiano Ronaldo - just hours after their coach said again he wanted him.

United have reported Real to FIFA over the club's public pursuit of Ronaldo. Real president Ramon Calderon said: "They don't have any evidence because nothing has happened." But coach Bernd Schuster told Spanish paper Marca today: "While he doesn't play for Madrid all we can do is hope, although it's clear he would be a great signing."
