Wanted: But Andriy Arshavin wants to play in Spain, not England

Andriy: I'm set on Spain

Evening Standard   23 Jun 2008

Andriy Arshavin is set to snub a move to the Premier League after revealing today that he wants to play in Spain.

Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester City and Newcastle have all been linked with the Russian playmaker - one of the stars of Euro 2008.

The 27-year-old Zenit St Petersburg star said: "I have offers from England and Germany, but what I'd really like is to play in Spain.

"It's the championship I've always followed, I like the football they play there. But, at present, I don't have any offers from there."

Chelsea, meanwhile, have offered Barcelona midfielder Deco a three-year deal worth £92,000-a-week after tax.
