Jamie targeting a double in doubles

04.07.08

Jamie Murray is confident he can book his place in the mixed doubles final today and then go on to retain the title 48 hours later.

The Britain, who won the trophy last year with Jelena Jankovic, and Liezel Huber face Bob Bryan of the United States and Australian Samantha Stosur.

Murray and his American partner go into the semi-final boosted by their straight-sets win over the No2 seeds Daniel Nestor and Chia-Jung Chuang.

Murray, 22, said: "Whenever we go on court I feel we can beat whoever we're playing. I'm confident we can beat whoever is on the other side of the net.

"It feels good to be playing a Wimbledon semi-final again, and we've got a definite chance of winning."

Murray's brother Andy saw his campaign end in convincing fashion on Wednesday night with a straight-sets defeat to Rafael Nadal.

The British No1 was given the runaround by the Spaniard, who put on a daunting display of power tennis.

The elder of the Murray brothers said: "Andy was pretty disappointed but it's still a great achievement to get to the quarter-final of a Grand Slam, and that will give him the belief when he goes into those big tournaments."
