Smit out but Boks bounce back in style

South Africa captain John Smit has been ruled out of the rest of the Tri-Nations.
The hooker had surgery in Johannesburg on the groin injury he suffered in an off-the-ball incident involving All Black lock Brad Thorn in the 19-8 defeat by New Zealand in Wellington nine days ago.
"I have obviously been very down since I returned home, but the guys brought a smile to my face," said Smit in reference to the Springboks' 30-28 victory over the All Blacks in Dunedin on Saturday, their first win in New Zealand since 1998.
