Fans set to lose out on tour of India

14.07.08

England will start and end this winter's tour of India in Mumbai but that is as far as the good news goes for supporters hoping to visit the country's big cities.

"We are disappointed that, despite representations, the itinerary doesn't offer our supporters the opportunity to experience more of the great cricket grounds of India," an ECB official said today.

England's tour of seven 50-over internationals and two Tests starts on 6 November and ends a couple of days before Christmas. Apart from Mumbai, the venue for two warm-up games and the Second Test, the only other major city on the itinerary is Delhi.

The one-day games have been scheduled for Rajkot, Indore, Kanpur, Jamshedpur, Cuttack, Guwahati and Delhi. The First Test is booked for Ahmedabad.
