Marcus Bent's deal U-turn
Evening Standard 15 Jul 2008Charlton striker Marcus Bent pulled out of a move to Cardiff at the 11th hour after deciding he would rather join Birmingham.
The 30-year-old, who spent last season on loan at Wigan, had been expected to join the FA Cup finalists last night.
But Cardiff said: "Shortly before Marcus Bent was due for his medical, we were told he had changed his mind and asked Charlton permission to speak to Birmingham. Although we are disappointed we only want players who are committed to Cardiff."
