Marlon on course for Hull switch
Evening Standard 22 Jul 2008Marlon King is in talks over a move to Hull just six months after he quit Watford.
The 28-year-old striker left Vicarage Road for Wigan in a deal worth up to £4million but scored only one goal in 15 appearances for Steve Bruce's side.
This summer he had been linked with a loan move to relegated Derby but Hull boss Phil Brown hopes to tie up a deal as the club prepare for their first season in the Premier League.
"We've agreed terms with Wigan," said Brown. "It's about getting it right in the transfer market, not doing it quickly."
King is being allowed to leave Wigan after the club signed Amr Zaki on a one-year loan from El Zamalek. With 27 goals in 48 appearances for Egypt he is, according to FIFA rankings, the No1 striker in the world.
