Chimbonda: undergoing medical ahead of Sunderland transfer

Sunderland medical for Spurs pair

23 Jul 2008

Tottenham defender Pascal Chimbonda and midfielder Teemu Tainio have had medicals at Sunderland ahead of transfers to Roy Keane's side.

Chimbonda is second-choice, right-back at White Hart Lane behind Alan Hutton while Tainio is also out of favour.

Spurs team-mates Younes Kaboul and Steed Malbranque are also wanted by Keane in a £23million deal. The Sunderland boss said: "We have virtually agreed personal terms with three of the players. I hope to have the deals done by the weekend."

More upset at losing Keano than Berbs, the only people that are loyal to the clubs are the fans. If Keane has to fight for his place every week he might regret going there.

Happy that they're leaving in all honesty. Now Ramos can build a younger fresh side to challenge for some serious competitions like the premiership itself and a top flight European spot.

Next, both Berba and Keano can be shown the door. Who would want to keep players that express the desire to be else where?
