Chelsea will have to wait until tomorrow before they can decide whether Jose Bosingwa has to be sent home from the tour of Asia due to his thigh injury.

He was due to have a scan this morning but it was put back 24 hours because the club's flight to Macau was delayed from Guangzhou.

Bosingwa limped off in the first half of the 4-0 win against Guangzhou Pharmaceutical yesterday and still looked to be in pain when he arrived at the team hotel in Macau today.

The Portugal rightback, who joined from Porto for £16.2million this summer, was making his debut but now there are concerns over his fitness with the start of the season just three weeks away.

Manager Luiz Felipe Scolari said: "The doctor will see him to check on the details and after that we will discuss the idea if it is possible for him to stay with us or fly back tomorrow."

It is feared that he has suffered a tear and the club would prefer he receives treatment back at the club's training ground in Cobham if the scan reveals a problem.

Scolari today spoke in glowing terms of a player he would like to sign, Robinho, as reports emerged in Spain that the Real Madrid winger has turned down a new contract.

The Brazilian, 24, is believed to have asked Real for a £4million-a-year deal but the Spaniards had only offered him £2.5m a season rising to £3m over five years.

Scolari said: "Robinho is a great player, he plays for one of the best teams in the world and for the national team."

Chief executive Peter Kenyon reiterated that talks are still taking place with Madrid but insists it won't be a problem if they fail to buy him.

He added: "If we can get him he will add to the talent we've got. But if not, the objectives at Chelsea won't change."

Meanwhile, Scolari insists his reign at Chelsea will be completely different to that of Jose Mourinho, who took the club to two Premier League titles in 2005 and 2006.

"My name is Luiz Felipe Scolari, not Jose Mourinho," he said. "I follow my way and not any other way. I tell my players we need to win, only this."

Michael Ballack is set to join the squad tomorrow after being on honeymoon but will not face Chengdu Blades on Saturday.
