Berba must go, Segers tells Spurs

Former Tottenham goalkeeping coach Hans Segers today revealed that Dimitar Berbatov has caused unrest in the dressing room for over a year and believes the club have to sell the striker to Manchester United for their own good.

Segers, who lost his job at White Hart Lane when ex-manager Martin Jol was fired last October, says Berbatov developed into a disruptive presence after joining in a £10.9million deal from Bayer Leverkusen in 2006.

He said: "What has been going on in the past few weeks with Berbatov isn't good. Something has to happen. He is one of the best strikers around but he is a big sulker."

Sir Alex Ferguson said yesterday that he was not very hopeful a deal for the Bulgarian could be done before the close of the transfer window.

But efforts will continue today with both clubs in Monaco, with Spurs attending the UEFA Cup draw while United take on Zenit St Petersburg in the Super Cup tonight.

Surely this poor soul should be allowed to leave, the effort of trying to win things the hard way in a developing team must be torture when you can jump on the medal gravy train and double your money.Excuse me while I sign on for another twelve hour shift.
