Under-fire: Frank Lampard has called on England fans to get behind the team

Capello hopes trio don't give him the blues

Chelsea trio Frank Lampard, John Terry and Ashley Cole all missed training with England today to upset preparations for their World Cup games with Andorra and Croatia.

Lampard suffered a dead leg in Sunday's draw with Tottenham but the midfielder expects to be available for Saturday's qualifier against Andorra in Barcelona.

Cole received a knock to his left knee in the Spurs game and Terry, who has a bug, should both be fit by the weekend.

Manager Fabio Capello allowed Manchester United's Wes Brown to sit out training as a precaution after he reported a minor knee injury. The absence of Steven Gerrard has heaped the pressure on Lampard (right) to run the show in midfield.

He has been criticised for the way he has played for his country since the last World Cup, but Lampard is adamant he needs help from his team-mates.

He said: "With Steven being out, I think the eyes will be on all of us, not just me. It's not about individuals. It's a team effort and we shouldn't single anyone out.

"We have a big enough squad that if anyone drops out we should be able to handle that."

When England played Andorra in Barcelona in a European Championship qualifier 18 months ago, they won 3-0 but were jeered by their own fans.

Lampard added: "We hope the fans will be behind us because games like this can be frustrating."

Ah, bless! £140k a week and finding a bunch of part timers 'frustrating!' If England can't put 6 past Andorra everyone in the team should be dropped ... forever
