Wasps not panicking, insists Lol

Lawrence Dallaglio insists Wasps will not hit the panic button after their first competitive game following his retirement ended in a comprehensive defeat.

The Guinness Premiership champions were outplayed by London Irish in the season opener at Twickenham at the weekend.

Dallaglio, who hung up his boots at the end of last season after 18 years at Wasps, watched from the sidelines as his former team-mates produced a rudderless display and went down 26-14.

But the 35-year-old former England captain, now an associate director at Wasps, is confident Raphael Ibanez's team can turn things around in time for Sunday's clash with Worcester at Adams Park.

He said: "Clearly, Wasps would have liked to have got off to a winning start but they didn't deserve to with the way they played on Saturday. Credit to London Irish for the win.

"They will be disappointed and there will be some very grumpy people at training this week but they won't be hitting the panic buttons just yet. I think the Premiership is going to be as tough as ever this year."
