Strength: Petr Cech is eyeing up trophies

Blues won’t run out of steam, says Cech

Petr Cech today insisted Chelsea's strength in depth can give them the edge over their rivals as they fight for glory on four fronts this season.

Luiz Felipe Scolari resisted the temptation to rest several senior players for last night's Carling Cup tie at Portsmouth and his team still easily breezed past their opponents, winning 4-0.

Scolari's approach is in contrast to that of Arsene Wenger, who uses the Carling Cup to allow his young players to gain experience, but Cech is confident the Blues will not run out of steam.

The Czech goalkeeper said: "If you look at the players we have in our squad, whatever line-up we put on the pitch will be strong.

"We are trying to win every competition, so it is not a surprise that the manager decides to put out a strong team in all games.

"We will see what happens in the later stages of the cups but at the moment I am playing all the games. I feel physically very good and I am not suffering from any fatigue."

He added: "This group of players looks really impressive. We have a lot of quality here."
