Boothroyd blasts Watford players

Evening Standard   1 Oct 2008

Watford manager Aidy Boothroyd accused his players of being "unprofessional" as they crashed to a 3-2 defeat at Burnley after throwing away the lead twice.

He said: "If you go ahead in a game like that, you win if you're a professional. We were very unprofessional and that's why we got beat.

"We were 1-0 up, 2-1 up and then lost 3-2 — that doesn't happen. You win the game and we didn't do that."

Will Hoskins broke the deadlock in the sixth minute but Burnley equalised with a penalty from Graham Alexander after Leigh Bromby handled under pressure.

On the stroke of half-time, the home defence allowed Hoskins to ghost in for his second.

But Burnley got themselves back on level terms for a second time when Martin Paterson scored just after the break and then Wade Elliott settled an entertaining game with a second-half header.

Boothroyd is always quick to blame others. How about taking some personal responsibility? After all he has brought most of these players into the Club, he is in charge of training, tactics and preparation.
Sorry Aidy but if anyone needs a kick up the aristotle it's you.
