Stuart Pearce has named Micah Richards and Aaron Lennon in his squad for England's two-legged UEFA Under-21 Championship play-off against Wales.

In addition to the full internationals, Pearce has called up three uncapped players — Chelsea defender Ryan Bertrand, on loan at Norwich, Wolves striker Sylvan Ebanks-Blake and Southampton midfielder Adam Lallana.

England travel to Cardiff for the first leg on 10 October before a decider at Villa Park four days later, with the victors claiming a place in next summer's finals in Sweden.

"Wales at this level are the strongest they have been in their history," said Pearce.

"They have seven players with full caps. There are not too many countries in Europe that can boast that."
