Fabio's just like Fergie, says Brown

10 Oct 2008

Wes Brown believes that his club and national managers, Sir Alex Ferguson and Fabio Capello, share a similar ability to get their players playing with confidence.

England take on Kazakhstan tomorrow aiming to build on their win in Croatia and the defender is certain Capello, like Ferguson, will not allow standards to slip.

He said: "There are similarities obviously. They both know what they are doing and they relate that to the players very clearly.

"They are very in control of themselves and they know what they want from their teams. They tell the players exactly what they want and from that the players get confidence. With confidence you can go into big games and play very well."

Brown may partner Rio Ferdinand in central defence or stay at right-back, and arrives at Wembley with his eyes fixed on scoring again.

The former Under-21 star hit the back of the net for United in the 2-0 win at Blackburn last weekend and also for England against Czech Republic in August. "It's just a bit of luck I think," he told TheFA.com.
