Double delight: Neil Harris struck twice

Neil likes to get it off his chest

20 Oct 2008

Neil Harris admits he has become a father figure at Millwall.

The 31-year-old striker scored twice, and David Martin was also on target, in a 3-1 win over Leeds at The Den.

Harris, now three goals short of equalling Teddy Sheringham's 111 goal club record, said: "I do moan in training but the young players need to know that Millwall is a way of life for the people who come to watch us."

Leyton Orient hope to sign a striker this week as a 1-0 defeat at Tranmere made it eight games without a win.

"I will have an answer on Wednesday from a player we have been waiting patiently for for five or six weeks," said boss Martin Ling.

Brentford drew 1-1 at Aldershot thanks to a Glenn Poole penalty giving Andy Scott cause for optimism. The manager said: "This point will be a big one if we win against Morecambe tomorrow."

Barnet overcame the sending-off of Max Porter after half an hour for a foul to win 4-3 at Rotherham thanks to goals from Cliff Akurang (two), Luke Medley and Albert Adomah.

Dagenham & Redbridge fell to their first home League defeat of the term as they crashed 3-1 to Bury. Sam Saunders scored their goal.
