Martin Johnson today launched a new beginning for English rugby by naming a team packed with exciting young players made up predominately from London's four Premiership clubs.

The team manager has throw an untried back division together for Saturday's opening autumn international against the Pacific Islanders at Twickenham.

There will be Test debuts for centre Riki Flutey (Wasps), fullback Delon Armitage (London Irish) and wing Ugo Monye (Harlequins) and Johnson has also opted for a rookie half-back pairing of Danny Cipriani and Danny Care.

In total, 10 of the team are from the capital with another three London players on the bench.

"There are lots of new caps and new faces around but there is also some experience," said Johnson.

"We are happy with the guys we have picked. Monye and Armitage have been very impressive all season and in camp over the last 10 days.

"There are some new caps in there and it is exciting. These guys are bursting to get out on the field. It is an exciting back line.

"It is important to hit the ground running. It will be very fast and furious in the first 25 minutes so we need to control that as much as we can. I want to see us win. That is what we are there for."

London Irish lock Nick Kennedy, arguably the best line-out forward in the country, will make his debut alongside captain Steve Borthwick of Saracens.

Of the back division, only Paul Sackey and Jamie Noon boast a cap-total in double figures.
