The 51-year-old five-times major golf champion has undergone three operations to remove a brain tumour since losing consciousness at Madrid Airport early last month.
The last surgery took place on 24 October and a statement today by La Paz hospital read: "The situation is favourable. It is likely that he will leave the Intensive Care Unit next week and be moved to another ward."
