Singapore sees Singh claim win
17 Nov 2008India's Jeev Milka Singh outplayed major winners Padraig Harrington and Ernie Els to win the Singapore Open with a final round 69.
Singh finished one stroke clear of his illustrious rivals on a seven-under-par 277.
Open champion Harrington lost his chance with a double bogey at the 16th and both he and Els missed birdie putts on the final green.
Singh, 36, also a winner in Europe and Japan this year, said: "I couldn't have asked for better but I'm a very fortunate man to win. I think that the golfing gods were on my side."
Harrington showed no sign of disappointment. "I may not feel good about this for a few hours but I am still delighted with my year," he said.
