Warning: John Terry has told his Chelsea team-mates that Arsenal are still in the title race

Arsenal aren't out of the title race, says John Terry

John Terry today warned his Chelsea team-mates they will be making a big mistake if they rule Arsenal out of the title race.

Chelsea moved nine points clear of the Gunners after they won 3-0 at West Brom while Arsene Wenger's men lost 2-0 at home to Aston Villa.

But Terry believes their London rivals will stay in the race for the rest of the season along with Liverpool and Manchester United.

Luiz Felipe Scolari's side face Arsenal at Stamford Bridge a week on Sunday with the return at Emirates Stadium in May and Terry feels they will have to win both games to stay ahead of them. He said: "I still consider Arsenal a contender, you should never write off the big sides. They have the players to do it and they will put a run together. We still have to play them at home and away and anything can happen. We have to make sure we pick up the six points against them in those two games.

"It is really close at the top at moment. Liverpool are playing well. I watched them before we played West Brom and Manchester United had a good result against Stoke.

"The main thing for us is to keep winning and try and frustrate the teams below us. We have experienced that in chasing Manchester United the last couple of years. It does get to you. They had the advantage of a better goal difference on us before but we have it now. If we can keep scoring and not conceding it's like another three points."

Nicolas Anelka stole the headlines for his brace at the Hawthorns on Saturday, but it was Jose Bosingwa who impressed most and scored a superb opening goal.

The right-back joined for £16.2m from Porto in the summer but Terry insists he has already proved value for money. Terry added: "He is one of the best signings of the year. He gives us a lot going forward and can defend. He has a great left and right foot and he shows that in training. He scores goals and is so quick people find it hard to get by him."

Anelka is also proving his worth having taken his tally to 12 League goals from as many starts this season and Terry said: "He is in the best form of his career. His link-up play as well as his goals has been brilliant and he has been a saviour for us what with Didier Drogba just coming back."

Drogba has until this evening to respond to the FA's charge of violent misconduct after throwing a coin at Burnley fans last week. A hearing will take place tomorrow.
