Andrew Flintoff wants to play in England's final three one-day internationals against India, even though the series is already lost and back-to-back Tests are just around the corner.

"It would be dangerous to think about anything other than these one-day games because we could get found out even more," said Flintoff.

"The way India have played, they've been ruthless. We have three games left and we're going to have to get something out of them. It's down to personal pride and trying to gain some momentum going into the Tests."

Flintoff's aggressive bowling has been one of the few bright spots for England while India have stormed into a 4-0 lead. But the all-rounder was briefly at the centre of an injury scare in Bangalore on Sunday when he needed treatment on his left ankle.

After four operations, hearts are in mouths whenever Flintoff looks as though he may be in difficulty. But the 30-year-old said: "The ankle is fine. I was a bit sore because of the footholes but I wasn't worried."

Of real concern to Flintoff going into tomorrow's fifth one-dayer in Cuttack, though, is the scale of India's dominance.

The all-rounder believes the gap can be explained, at least partly, by the experience India's players have gained from the IPL Twenty20 league and he wants England's cricketers to be given the same chance.

Flintoff admitted: "With playing the short form of the game they have learned a lot of new skills and we've been found wanting a little bit.

"There has been a lot of talk about the financial rewards of the IPL but I think players will develop as well."
