Inter link: Didier Drogba could be reunited with his former boss Jose Mourinho

Didier Drogba in new link with Jose Mourinho and Inter Milan

Didier Drogba's future at Chelsea is in doubt again amid claims that his agent met with representatives from Inter Milan in Fulham last night.

According to reports from Italy, Pierre Frelot was spotted talking with Jorge Mendes, who is the representative of former Chelsea and now Inter coach Jose Mourinho, as well as the club's general manager Marco Branca.

Drogba enjoyed a close relationship with Mourinho while he was in charge of Chelsea and wanted to quit Stamford Bridge after he was sacked last year.

At the time, the striker said: "Something is broken with the club. The damage has been big in the dressing room because we know what happened and who caused Mourinho's departure. Nothing can stop me from leaving Chelsea now."

The 30-year-old was strongly linked with a move to the San Siro in the summer after Mourinho was appointed Inter manager.

Just recently he confirmed his desire to stay at Chelsea and sources in Italy insist the reports about a meeting between representatives of Inter and Drogba are accurate.

He only has 18 months left on his deal and talks over a new contract have been postponed until next summer. The striker has been plagued with a knee injury this season which has led him to start only one game in the Premier League so far.

He also made the headlines for the wrong reasons on his latest comeback against Burnley at Stamford Bridge two weeks ago when he threw a coin into the stand at away supporters.

The Football Association handed him a three-game ban and Chelsea are still considering whether to fine him two weeks' wages, which is £180,000.

The club were also frustrated by Drogba's comments last season as well as some of his behaviour on the pitch, which included getting sent off in the Champions League Final against Manchester United.

Former Italy coach Arrigo Sacchi recently claimed that he expected Drogba to be involved in a swap deal with Inter Milan striker Adriano in the January transfer window.

However, that has been dismissed as "just speculation" by a Chelsea spokesman, with manager Luiz Felipe Scolari expecting Drogba to play a big part in the remainder of the season.

He is set to start against Bordeaux in the Champions League tomorrow night, where Chelsea can seal a place in the knock-out phase with a win.
