Proud Sousa wants QPR to lift away form

Skipper Martin Rowlands was the toast of Loftus Road after his stunning strike earned Queens Park Rangers a 1-0 victory over Championship leaders Wolves, writes Jon West.

The win moved Rangers up to seventh and manager Paulo Sousa was confident of more success, starting with tomorrow night's trip to Sheffield Wednesday.

He said: "I'm proud of the players, they are working very hard and they have beaten the team at the top of the league.

"Our next two games are away, where our performances have not been so good.

"But if my team create as many chances as they did today then we will start to score goals away."

Watford could slip into the relegation places before their home game against Norwich on Wednesday, following a 3-2 defeat at Birmingham.

Tamas Priskin gave the Hornets an early lead but replies from Kevin Phillips, Marcus Bent and Cameron Jerome meant a late Ross Jenkins strike was not enough.

Charlton, who are at home to Coventry tomorrow, now prop up the Championship after a 2-0 defeat at Blackpool. Relegation rivals Doncaster and Nottingham Forest both picked up points to send the Addicks to the bottom.
