Quins to rely on brain training again as Stade chase revenge at The Stoop

Tani Fuga has revealed how sports psychologist Pieter Kruger helped Harlequins defeat Stade Francais in Paris and create one of the greatest days in his career.

Armed with Kruger's techniques for dealing with intense pressure and big crowds, Samoan hooker Fuga faces the same opposition in tomorrow's return at The Stoop.

Kruger, from South Africa, works regularly with the players on a one-to-one basis and was brought in by director Dean Richards for last Saturday's high-pressure Paris clash.

Victory for Quins would almost certainly put them into the Heineken Cup knock out stages - an outstanding achievement given they failed to win a pool match last season.

The squad have matured rapidly, adding a steely defence to an exciting attacking strategy and Fuga said: "Last weekend in Paris was one of the highlights of my career. I thought playing for my country was special, but this was equal to that. We have the advantage that we have already defeated them. Pieter has helped us all individually and as a team and I think last weekend was a clear sign of this.

"Dean Richards had also spoken to us about blocking out the noise and focusing on the game and when we ran out, we knew what to expect.

"But, this week will be a totally different game. Stade Francais have nothing to loose, they are a world-class side, with some great players."
