Equaling the record: Neil Harris has scored 111 goals for Millwall

Harris targets promotion as he bags record

15 Dec 2008

Neil Harris is aiming for a double celebration after equalling Teddy Sheringham's all-time goalscoring record for Millwall.

The 31-year-old struck in the 2-1 victory at Walsall to make it 111 goals for the Lions and now hopes to fire the club to promotion.

"It's been massive pressure but I tried to play it down," said Harris. "We can be in a fantastic position after Christmas if we keep this up."

Andy Frampton hit the winner a minute from time for Millwall, who are second in League One.

Leyton Orient boss Martin Ling is worried after his team's seven-match unbeaten run ended with a 21 loss at home to Cheltenham. Ling said: "It's tightened up in the bottom eight now, and we're part of that."

Brentford's Nathan Elder believes he deserved his goal in the 2-1 win over Bradford. He said: "I've been working hard as I try to put things right and I think it has paid off."

Barnet's new player-coach Gary Breen already knows his team's weak point. After the draw 2-2 with Gillingham he said: "One priority is to stop leaking goals."
