Robert Green's England frustration is set to continue next year after England coach Fabio Capello insisted David James is still the best keeper in the country.
James has been struggling for form of late and made mistakes in Portsmouth's defeats to Wolfsburg and Newcastle. The 38-year-old has been Capello's first choice since he took over 12 months ago, but has yet to fully win over the critics in an England shirt.
Green has been ignored by the Italian even though he has starred for West Ham and Capello said: "James? He's good and has done very well. At this moment he is the best goalkeeper for us. Sometimes he plays very well, sometimes there's a mistake [for his club]. But the most important thing is when you wear the national shirt."
