Ben Maher proves 2012 potential at Olympia

British star Ben Maher underlined his 2012 Olympics credentials by taking leading rider honours at the London International Horse Show.
The 25-year-old suffered an agonising defeat in the curtain-closing Olympia Grand Prix last night, finishing second to American Laura Kraut by six hundredths of a second.
But Maher still did enough to land the prestigious £10,000 H&M leading rider award after five days of competition.
Maher, who impressed a capacity crowd on board Robin Hood W, said: "I have been chipping away slowly and had a lot of clear rounds. I really wanted to win the Grand Prix, but my horses aren't quite ready to win yet."
