QPR sign Heidar Helguson

2 Jan 2009

QPR have completed the signing of striker Heidar Helguson from Bolton on a permanent deal for an undisclosed fee.

The 31-year-old, who joined Rangers on loan in November, has signed a two-and-a-half-year deal which will keep him at Loftus Road until the end of June 2011.

The Iceland international has made seven appearances for the Coca-Cola Championship side this season, scoring three goals.

Helguson told the club's official website, www.qpr.co.uk: "I have really enjoyed my loan spell here and I am happy that my future is sorted out.

"I believe we have a great opportunity to push on in the second half of the season and I am looking forward to playing my part in what promises to be an exciting future for this club."

Manager Paulo Sousa said: "Heidar has proved to be a valuable addition to the squad in recent weeks and I am delighted we've managed to bring him here on a permanent deal."
